HOME > GAMBLING GUIDE > GOOD ETIQUETTE FOR PLAYING SLOTS
Slot playing is a form of gambling where players can keep to themselves. In most cases, you don’t even have to interact
with others. Nonetheless, we have a few pointers for you to consider when playing slots.
Several articles explaining proper behavior and courtesy when playing table games have been written over the years. Because slot play seems so easy and skill-
free and it is a game where you aren’t sitting at a table with others (or even online chatting with others) many sites don’t cover this issue. Well. We have
played a lot of slots and we HAVE seen players act a little out-of-line when playing. Here are a few pointers for you.
- Coin Cups on Handles or Seats:
When you see a coin cup on a machines handle or on the seat in front of the machine it means that the machine is being played by another player. Maybe they
ran to the bathroom real quick (players like the feel of a certain machine and they want to play it continuously). Maybe the player is looking for more change
or something. Be aware that if you are the person doing this, you need to get back to the machine as soon as possible. It is not proper to expect this machine
to be available at your leisure either. Many players see this type of machine as one they might want to play - more so now that they see someone else likes
it.
- Playing Multiple Machines:
You will see many players plopped down in front of one machine, but feeding coins to just about all the surrounding machines, too. Be aware and courteous of
this. Likewise, if you are someone parked in front of several machines during bust times – this is also considered poor etiquette. Many casinos post signs
forbidding this type of game-play anyway, so always be aware of others. There isn’t anything wrong with trying this when the area you are playing at is slow.
